As an apprentice, Paul achieved distinction grade throughout his City and Guilds course, winning the "Best end of year project" award two years running. As part of a national skills' competition "Skill Build" in 1993 and 1994, Paul won two gold medals. With these medals he qualified for the International Skill Olympics in Lyon 1995 where he won the silver medal.
He established his workshop in 1997 and now has a small team of highly skilled craftsmen around him, all working to his exacting standards.
